Perspective

PHOTOGRAPHY

My photography includes landscape, portraiture, abstract viewpoints and close-ups. I specialise in light and reflection; some of the work is deliberately presented upside-down to create an unusual or Impressionist effect.

My favourite time of the day is an hour before sunset when the light is golden and people become walking shadows; a number of the displayed images are a good example of this.

Very few of these photos have been digitally enhanced; what you see is what you get.

Any portraits of children have the appropriate permission from parents.

ARTWORK

Most of the artwork is heavily influenced by Native American culture and history. Many of the photographs, especially landscape, were taken by myself. Others are from the National Archives and Records Administration and in the public domain. While most of the work is photo-montage, other materials are sometimes used such as shattered glass in the centre of "DISTORTIONS". While my interest in the subject is acute, I am not Native American nor do I claim affiliation with any tribe; I'm a British citizen and proud of my Anglo-Saxon heritage which can be traced back to 940 AD.

The remaining work is more generic and contemporary.

WRITING

I have a diverse range of writing work reflecting many styles from a hedonistic account of Glastonbury Festival to a travel article on Tucson; from satirical essays on 'Lord of the Rings' to an appraisal of political prisoner, Leonard Peltier; from an autobiography of a tree to a critique of Remembrance Day.

There are essays, personal accounts and poetry included.
